Markets end on a flat note for the second consecutive session Markets ended with marginal losses amid a range bound session. While the Sensex closed down 85.83 points or 0.51% at 16698.04, the Nifty lost 26.50 points or 0.52% at 5022.80. Broad market indices outperformed as the BSE Midcap and Small Cap indices gained 0.41% and 0.02% respectively. This explains the marginally positive market breadth as A/D ratio was 1.1:1 on the BSE. NSE cash turnover was Rs.14,844.87crs. Vs. Rs.15,067.85crs. yesterday.

Sectorally, it was a mixed bag. While the top gainers were Realty, IT and Auto indices, the biggest losers were the BSE Bankex, Consumer Durables and Capital Goods indices. Gainers from the index pivotals included Wipro, ACC, Unitech and Infosys. Losers were BHEL, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank and SAIL..

Markets are continuing to consolidate for the second consecutive session. We continue with our go slow approach on fresh positions as the main indices are trading near some strong resistances from which they could react. Existing positions may however be held on to as the underlying trend continues to remain up..
