Name of Fund: Benchmark Global Theme Funds- 4 schemes
Scheme: This is an open-ended foreign securities scheme. There are 4 schemes under this fund. These schemes are:
1. Benchmark Global Clean Energy Fund
2. Benchmark Global Private Equity Fund
3. Benchmark Global Commodities Fund
4. Benchmark Global Water Fund
Objective: These schemes have different objectives:
- Benchmark Global Clean Energy Fund: The investment objective of the Benchmark Global Clean Energy Fund is to provide returns by investing predominantly in Exchange Traded Funds linked to indices whose constituents are involved in the production of clean energy/alternate energy or manufacturing of equipment and technology for the industry of clean energy/alternate energy and foreign debt securities whose returns are linked to indices pertaining to clean energy/alternate energy.
- Benchmark Global Private Equity Fund: The investment objective of the Benchmark Global Private Equity Fund is to provide returns by investing predominantly in Exchange Traded Funds linked to indices whose constituents are publicly traded private equity companies and foreign debt securities whose returns are linked to indices pertaining to publicly traded private equity companies.
- Benchmark Global Commodities Fund: The investment objective of the this scheme is to provide returns by investing predominantly in Exchange Traded Funds linked to global diversified commodity indices foreign debt securities whose returns are linked to indices pertaining global diversified commodities.
- Benchmark Global Water Fund: The investment objective of the Benchmark Global Water Fund is to provide returns by investing predominantly in Exchange Traded Funds linked to indices whose constituents are companies engaged in business of water utilities and related equipments and foreign debt securities whose returns are linked to indices pertaining to whose constituents are companies engaged in business of water utilities and related equipments.
Asset Allocation: The fund will invest 90%-100% in units of exchange-traded funds on indices, and foreign debt securities. It may invest 0-10% in money market instruments, G-Secs, bonds, debentures and cash at call.
Face Value: Rs 10
Investment Options: Benchmark Global Theme Funds offers two options namely growth and dividend option. The dividend option will have payout and reinvestment facility.
Entry Load: There will be an entry load of 2.25% during new fund offer period.
Exit Load: There will be 2.25% exit load charged.
Minimum Investment Amount: Minimum investment is Rs 10,000 and in multiples of Re 1 thereafter.
Minimum subscription amount: Rs 1 crore

Scheme: A close-ended Fixed Term Income scheme with no assured returns.
Objective: The Investment objective of the Scheme would be to achieve growth of capital through investments made in a basket of fixed income securities in line with the duration the Scheme.
Fund Opens: 27 February 2008
Fund Closes: 4 March 2008
Face Value: Rs 10 per unit.
Investment Options: The scheme offers growth, dividend option (Calendar Monthly, Calendar Quarterly, Calendar Half Yearly, Calendar Yearly, and Dividend on Maturity Option).
The Dividend Option offers Dividend Payout and Dividend Re-investment Facilities. Both the Options will be managed with a common portfolio.
Entry Load: The scheme will not charge any entry load.
Exit load: 2% if investor redeems before the date of maturity.
Asset Allocation: The scheme invest 0-100% in money market instruments. It may have investment of 0-100% in debt instruments. Debt instruments may include securitised debt upto 60% of the net assets & exposure in debt derivatives upto maximum permissible under SEBI regulations i.e. 100%. The Scheme shall limit its exposure to investment in Foreign Debt Securities upto a maximum of 10% of its net assets. The Scheme will not invest in equity and equity related securities.
Minimum Investment Amount: The minimum investment amount under regular plan is Rs 25000 and in multiple of Re 1 thereafter. Under institutional plan, the minimum investment amount is Rs 25,00,000 and in multiple of Re 1 thereafter. There is no upper limit.
Benchmark Index: Crisil Short Term Bond Fund Index.

Name of Fund: Franklin Templeton Fixed Tenure Fund - Series IX
Scheme: A close-ended Income scheme
Objective: The scheme seeks to generate returns and reduce interest rate volatility through a portfolio of fixed income securities with a maturity profile generally in line with the funds duration along with capital appreciation through equity exposure.
Face Value during NFO: Rs 10 per unit subject to applicable load.
Investment Options: The scheme offers two plans.
Plan A: three years from the date of allotment
Plan B: five years from the date of allotment
Each Plan has two options, growth and dividend (payout) option.
Entry Load: The scheme will charge up to 4% as maximum sales/entry load on purchase including switch-in.

Mutual funds in buying mode
Mutual funds (MFs) bought shares worth a net Rs 192.50 crore on Wednesday, 27 February 2008, compared to their buying of Rs 525.90 crore on Tuesday, 26 February 2008.
MFs net inflow of Rs 192.50 crore on 27 February 2008 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 985.40 crore and gross sales Rs 792.90 crore. The 30-share BSE Sensex rose 19.80 points or 0.11% at 17,825.99 on that day.
MFs were net sellers of shares worth Rs 543.20 crore in this month, till 27 February 2008.
