Nestle S.A. management expressed satisfaction at the impressive growth of Nestle India in recent years and the high quality of talent available at all levels. Nestle India is estimated to invest upto Rs 300 crore in the current year which could go upto Rs 600 crore in the next year, subject to financial evaluation. Expansion of out of home business was outlined as a growth area, particularly in the area of providing beverage solutions.

Nestle S.A. considers efficient usage of water as a priority for long term sustainability. Nestle India is also actively implementing initiatives to train farmers and village school children on water conservation while increasing efficiency of water usage in its operations. During the last ten years Nestle India has reduced water consumption per ton of product manufactured by 63%.

Nestle India recorded total net sales of Rs 3,504 crore in 2007 and for the first half year ended June 30, 2008 total net sales were Rs 2,126 crore, showing a growth of 25% over the same period last year.

SUVN-502 is a potent, safe, highly selective, brain penetrant and orally active antagonist at a nonperipheral CNS receptor site 5-HT6, intended for the symptomatic treatment of Alzheimer's disease and other disorders of memory and cognition like attention deficient hyperactivity, Parkinson, Schizophrenia. The study was conducted at Basel, Switzerland under a clinical trial application approved by SwissMedic, the regulatory authority of Switzerland for therapeutic products. The study is A double-blind, placebo-controlled, randomized, single ascending dose study in healthy male subjects.
The tolerability of SUVN-502 up to the highest dose administered is very good. No serious adverse events occurred. No clinically significant changes or study medication related abnormalities were observed with respect ECGs and laboratory evaluations. There were no clinically significant changes of vital sign parameters. The detailed pharmacokinetics of the SUVN-502 was studied from the blood samples drawn up to 72 hours post-dosing. SUVN-502 demonstrated very favorable pharmacokinetics with a potential for once in a day dosing.

bagged orders worth Rs 695.57 crore from the Andhra Pradesh State
Government for the modernization of the Krishna Delta System. The
project includes massive modernization programme of the major river
delta systems to boost irrigation potential along the Bantumilti Canal,
Polarj Canal, Campbell Canal, Dosapadu Channel, Kunderu Channel, East
Bank Canal, Gudivada Channel and their distributaries. The project is
part of the enormous modernization programme undertaken by the state
government on major river delta systems to boost irrigation potential.

The
project work will involve development of Bantumilli Canal (from Km
58.105 to 100.383), Polarj Canal (from Km 58.105 to Km 100.361),
Campbell Canal (from Km 58.105 to Km 96.289) Dosapadu Channel (from Km
0.000 to Km 35.085), Kunderu Channel, East Bank Canal (from Km 7.738 to
Km 64.50) (Package 4), Gudivada Channel (Km 0.000 to Km 39.937) and its
distributaries and for Prakasam Barrage on EPC Turn Key Basis. The
projects are expected to be completed in next 36 months.
