Foreign funds in selling mode
Foreign
institutional investors (FIIs) sold shares worth a net Rs 399.20 crore
on Thursday, 4 September 2008, as against their inflow of Rs 1337.40
crore on Tuesday, 2 September 2008.
FII outflow of Rs 399.20
crore on 4 September 2008 was a result of gross purchases Rs 2617.20
crore and gross sales Rs 3016.40 crore. BSE Sensex fell 150.76 points
or 1% to 14,899.10 points on that day.
FII inflow in September
2008 totaled Rs 509.60 (till 4 September 2008). FII outflow reached Rs
28,004.10 crore in calendar 2008, so far, till 4 September 2008.
There are a total of 1484 foreign funds registered with the Securities & Exchange Board of India (Sebi).
