FIIs in buying mode in equities


Foreign
institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 758 crore
on Monday, 8 September 2008, as against their outflow of Rs 1736.80
crore on Friday, 5 September 2008.

FII inflow of Rs 758 crore
on 8 September 2008 was a result of gross purchases Rs 3356.40 crore
and gross sales Rs 2598.40 crore. The BSE Sensex jumped 461.14 points
or 3.18% at 14,944.97 points on that day.

FII outflow in
September 2008 totaled Rs 469.10 crore (till 8 September 2008). FII
outflow reached Rs 28,982.80 crore in calendar 2008, so far, till 8
September 2008.

There are a total of 1491 foreign funds registered with the Securities & Exchange Board of India (Sebi).
